As much as I love the moth bitten holes and lumps of filler they don’t form the best rally car shell. Predominantly using the grinder and welder I have slowly been repairing and modifying the shell. At first I just kept walking around the car and couldn’t decide where to start so I tuck a deep breath and started chopping. Surprisingly!! The holes just got bigger and bigger in the search for sound metal.
Just a small hole and various other small holes around it.
Some of the repair pannels tacked in.
Double skinning around the offside foot well and inner arch.
Although it seems like slow progress, I have been wiring lights and generally improving the workshop. A lot of time has been spent moving engines around and trying to find somewhere to store all the parts whilst I restore the shell.
